Fleuron du Cuir restore convenience furniture, which are very decorative pieces of furniture that can serve as night tables or coffee tables.
In the 19th century, they were used to hold the chamber pots.
One would often find titles on the pieces, such as “Voyages aux
Pays Bas”, “Mystères de Paris”, or maybe “Voyages à la lune”, titles from works by Eugène Sue.
They were either covered in leather-finish green paper, or all in leather, richly decorated on the mock book spines and on the top surface.
